After reading the NT myself I have found that there is not one verse that says to keep the Sabbath holy, but there are many which say, the old Jewish covenant, of which the Sabbath is a part, has been fulfilled, and has been superseded by the New Law, the Law of Christ, the New Covenant.

How do you know that you have the correct day of the week? Isn't it a vary strong possibility that the day could have been altered or changed accidentally in the past couple thousand years.

Mark 16:9 – "Jesus was risen early the first day of the week."
This illustrates why I keep Sunday as a holy day. Christ arose from the grave and because He did, the Sabbath day was moved forward a day in time to commemorate His super-glorious resurrection. Acts 20:7 proves this fact, it says, "And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them…" and so on. Clearly this shows that Sunday was designated as the day of worship for Christians. In short it says, 'On Sunday they met for church to worship…' This is ample proof for Sunday sacredness.

Now, here are Sunday proofs of Christ's life before his crucifixion.
In these next proofs, Christ clearly shatters the theory of Sabbath keeping, making way for a new day to worship on. He even berates the Jews who criticize Him for doing so… all these texts have seemed to be ignored by those endeavoring to prove Sabbath sacredness.
These verses are as follows: Matt 12:1-12, Mark 2:23-28, Luke 6:1-11, Luke 13:10-16, Luke 14:1-5, John 7:21-24, John 9:13-17 and John 5:9-18 – with vs. 18 in particular, here the Jews adamantly declare and clearly show that Jesus broke the Sabbath. All of these many verses show no support whatsoever for the Sabbath. Instead these references prefigure its demise.

John 20:19- "Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled… came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, 'Peace be unto you'."
Unmistakably, this proves that the disciples were in support of the new day for worship, which was set down by Christ himself. This verse is clear… all the disciples were assembled in one room and Christ appeared and stood in the midst of them and exclaimed, "Peace to you all." How much clearer can you get for Sunday worship? Christ himself was present for the service.

Col 2:16- "Let no man therefore judge you… [concerning] the Sabbath days."
Here we go, an incredibly lucid verse stating that it doesn't matter what day you keep holy… it clearly expresses that one day is no longer superior to any other. Whether I keep Sabbath or not, it does not matter anymore. The Sabbath day does not have the importance as it once had, before the crucifixion of Christ.

1st Corinthians 16:2- "Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him…"
With this verse alone, the theory of Sunday sacredness is substantiated. Here we have the people of God taking an offering on the first day of the week. With this text my assessment is consolidated… Sunday sacredness is indisputably valid and as we see this is the course Christ would have us to follow.

Isaiah 66:23- And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship me, saith the Lord."
This verse seems to be strait forward and pretty obvious that the Sabbath will be kept throughout all eternity and that since it will be kept for all eternity shouldn't we 'practice' keeping it now? If this is so, explain this to me… In the final state of God's kingdom, Revelation 21:23 tells us, …[there will be] no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine…" basically, there will be one perpetual day. John adds in Rev. 21:25 "there shall be no night there [referring heaven]." With this now in mind, how could there be a cycle of seven days that would allow for a literal Sabbath? The Isaiah passage, in reality, says nothing about Sabbath worship. It simply means God's people will perpetually worship Him.
