In addition to knowing what we believe, having an idea were others are coming from is imperative so we can build bridges and not walls in witnessing to them.

Over the next few weeks we will prayerfully cover what we believe in regards to Salvation, Predestination, and the Millennium, comparing it with the two or three other major belief systems widely adhered to today. These are the main points of contention among christians that I have come across so far.

People's view of certain parts of the Bible dictate how they will interpret other portions of it... For instance, if you believe that God chose certain individuals for salvation before the foundation of the world, solely of His own will, regardless of their choice, it would logically follow that once one of those who was chosen is "saved" being drawn by the irresistible grace of God, he cannot lose his salvation. Having an idea of these types of things will hopefully help us structure our outreach in a non-threatening, efficient manner. And I believe it can also give us more confidence during those outreach opportunities.
